Semi Hakim is the co-founder of Kök Projekt. Kök Projekt is an accelerator company works on food, agriculture, and water(FAW) sectors based in Istanbul, Turkey. After his graduation from Tourism Management at Haliç University, he continued his training on Culinary Arts in Culinary Arts Academy Istanbul. During his time as a chef, he coordinated research projects on Anatolian cuisine and culture, took part in international gastro-diplomacy projects, and organized food events, and coordinated projects focused on small-scale producers in Turkey.
In 2015, Semi Hakim co-founded Kök Projekt together with Shirley Kaston and started work on empowering FAW entrepreneurship, with building incubation and acceleration programs focused on the future of food. Kök Projekt collaborates with companies, NGO’s and governmental organizations to build digital and physical platforms on food entrepreneurship across Turkey, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa region.
